I was born in the Dominican Republic, though my mother and I left there when I was 1-1/2-years-old, just before the Dominican revolution. My mother was Belgian and my father East Indian and French Algerian. We subsequently lived in New York, Miami, Florida; Holland, Belgium, Puerto Rico, and San Francisco, and Santa Barbara, California. My Ballet training started in first grade and continued for about 8 years. I started learning Belly Dance at around age 21 with Sharon Page Ritchie and Katerina Burda. I've also studied a variety of dance forms such as: Afro-Haitian, Flamenco, Modern, Jazz, West African, Hawaiian, Tahitian, Maori, Kathak, Afro-Brazilian, and Samba; as well as Jujitsu and Bikram Yoga.
I currently live in San Francisco. I also love to paint, and have prints on sale through Fine Art America.
